The Criminal Investigation Division performs the follow-up investigative work for the Police Department. Each detective and officer is specially educated to aid them in their ability to investigate the wide variety of crimes that can occur within the town of Orleans. They are trained to handle domestic assaults, rape & sex offenses, fraud, hate crimes, arson, drug investigations, and a variety of other crimes committed against its citizens. Under the command of Deputy Chief Macdonald, detectives and officers are assigned to follow up on all major crimes.
In some cases, detectives and officers may reach a dead end in their investigation and request assistance from the general public. Please see our Unsolved Crimes page to see if you can provide any information that would assist in solving any of these crimes. You may be able to aid us in solving a crime.
